Need a QuantiFERON TB blood test? Accesa Health offers the QuantiFERON Gold TB blood test, including the required doctor's order, blood draw and a copy of your results, for $149. The QuantiFERON-TB Gold test is an FDA-approved blood test that can screen for tuberculosis (TB). QuantiFERON TB testing is a more accurate version of TB skin testing, specifically for people who have had the BCG vaccine or latent TB previously.
QuantiFERON testing belongs to a class of tests known as interferon-gamma release assay tests, also known as IGRA tests. There are several advantages to the QuantiFERON-TB Gold test. The QuantiFERON test is a blood test and only one visit is needed (as opposed to two for the TB skin test). Another advantage is that the QuantiFERON blood test can differentiate between latent and active tuberculosis which is useful for screening for tuberculosis in people who have received the BCG vaccine previously. For people with a history of a positive TB skin test, the QuantiFERON TB blood test can often serve as an alternative to a chest x-ray for anyone who is at risk for a false positive skin test result. Through Accesa Health, a documented positive skin test result is not required to get the QuantiFERON test.
If you are interested in getting a QuantiFERON test, you are welcome to walk into Accesa Health when we are open and get your TB blood test. Results generally take 4-6 business days and we will notify you when they are ready. Alternatively, you can also request testing through our virtual medical practice on Push Health and get tested at a Quest Diagnostics lab location near you. To get started, click here.
If you have had a positive TB blood test in the past and need a chest x-ray, please see our TB chest x-ray page. Please call us at (310) 606-3877 if we can help you with your QuantiFERON TB blood test or another health service.
