One of the tips my professors gave me in nursing school on our first day was to get organized. They told us to get planners and organize everything as much as possible because our lives for the next two years would revolve around nursing school. As students, we did exactly what we were told. We scheduled our meals, our families, our jobs, and our social lives (or lack thereof) around homework assignments, clinical rotations, and lectures. Although it was not easy, it taught me the value of time and what one can accomplish when managing their time appropriately.
As the year begins, I want to encourage you to re-evaluate where and how you are spending your time.
